Projecting infinite confidence, whip-smart humor, and edgy feminist satire, Cherry’s latest EP, ‘EAT ME’, is a tantalizing hip-hop-inspired art project that exudes simultaneous sass and wit. Self proclaimed as “bitch-pop”, ‘EAT ME’ shines as the perfect pairing for a fabulously queer circus, honing in an absurdist spirit with sexually liberating lyrics in title tracks like “Butter”, “Bread” and “(Jiggling) Jelly”. Growing up in a multicultural background and having to relocate frequently, Cherry embraced music as a form of escapism from her difficult childhood. Admiring artists that range from No Doubt, Kesha, leikeli47 and Alice Longyu Gao for their individuality, Cherry started creating her own fusion of these favorites. Initially, rapping was just something she did for fun at acoustic gigs in Nashville, covering songs by Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dogg.
