Position Music offers year-round internship opportunities in our Burbank and Nashville offices. Intern candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college program for college credits. Typical time commitment is 20 hours per week. Interns must have their own transportation. Internship responsibilities include: Internet/Client research, Music submission review, Publishing administration, Music metadata organization, Social media management, Video/image editing and creation, and Misc. office tasks.

Sr. Director, Marketing and Product Management (Burbank, CA)

Position Summary:

The Senior Director of Marketing and Product Management (“the Senior Director”) will be a key strategic leader within Position Music, driving the creative vision, planning, and execution of marketing initiatives for their frontline roster of recording artists. This role blends artistry and analytics, combining a deep understanding of music culture with strategic acumen to develop and amplify Position Music’s artists on a global scale. The ideal candidate will bring a deep passion for music, a robust industry network, and a proven track record of building artist brands, expanding audiences, and driving meaningful engagement across digital and traditional platforms.   • Build, lead, and scale a high-performing marketing organization, initially overseeing 3+ Product Managers and 2–3 Digital Product Managers, while providing strategic direction, creative oversight, and data-driven insights across all campaigns.

A&R (Publishing) (Burbank, CA)

Position Summary:

Position Music is seeking a full-time A&R based in Burbank, CA to join our Music Publishing team. In this role, you’ll focus on discovering and signing talent, as well as creative development and strategy.

As a A&R at Position Music, your primary role will be growing, managing and securing creative opportunities for a roster of songwriters, producers and artists. The ideal candidate will work to expand our roster while also developing and creating new opportunities for our current roster.

You will be responsible for seeing through the lifecycle of a creative — including discovery, signing, sessions, and song placements. A strong music publishing background, excellent network and ability to envision and execute a larger creative strategy are essential to be successful in this role. This role is specifically suited for a candidate with not only a passion for artists, but a passion for songwriters, producers and the process of song creation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Talent Discovery: Identify and sign new talent (songwriters, producers, and artists). Discovery via use of relationships within the music community, A&R research, attending live shows and events, etc.
  • Songwriter Development: Provide creative strategy for growth — facilitating sessions, collaborations, pitch ideas and song feedback, to nurture the skills and relationships of signed talent in order to create or leverage opportunities for them. Ability to liaise with managers and talent to ensure smooth execution of strategy.
  • Song Management: Expand the existing publishing catalog, procuring song placement opportunities.
  • Industry Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with creatives, managers, lawyers, labels, agents, and other industry professionals.
  • Admin/Data Oversight: Contribute to weekly music schedules, reports, song charts, deal memos and looking lists.

Experience:

  • 4-6 years of experience in music publishing A&R.
  • Multiple music genre knowledge and experience preferred.

In this role, you’ll support the A&R department while working closely with our roster of songwriters, producers, and artists to help bring creative ideas to life and ensure smooth execution from concept to placement.

A&R Coordinator (Burbank, CA)

Position Summary:

Position Music is seeking a full-time A&R Coordinator based in Burbank to join our Music Publishing team. In this role, you’ll support the A&R department; working across the frontline publishing roster to help bring creative ideas to life and ensure smooth execution from concept to release.

As an A&R Coordinator working across our Music Publishing sector, you’ll play a central role in managing day-to-day operations for our publishing A&R team. Responsibilities will include [but not be limited to] scheduling sessions, tracking songs, maintaining/delivering metadata and credits, running point on A&R meetings, coordinating songwriting camps, etc. You’ll also assist with scouting new talent, supporting songwriter/producer relations, liaising with record labels + managers, and helping drive creative initiatives that shape the future of Position Music’s catalog.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Session Coordination: Schedule and manage writing sessions, camps, and studio bookings; liaise with managers, writers, producers, and artists to ensure smooth execution. Maintenance of client calendars.
  • Song Management: Track and organize demos, session outputs, and final assets in DISCO and internal databases.
  • Metadata & Credits: Collect and input accurate song splits, metadata, credits, and publishing info across all releases. Liaise with admin department to get songs registered in a proactive and timely fashion.
  • Creative A&R Support: Assist in researching and scouting emerging songwriters, producers, and artists; prepare one-sheets and summaries for internal review. Research and compile noteworthy data trends. Review demo submission.
  • Creative Admin: Help organize listening meetings, maintain playlists, and circulate music to internal teams and external partners.
  • Calendar & Meeting Coordination: Manage A&R team calendars as needed, schedule internal and external meetings, organize listening sessions, and ensure all meeting prep materials are distributed ahead of time.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with A&R Admin, Label, and Creative teams to ensure all release and pitching assets are complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule.

$40,000 – $50,000 (commensurate with experience)
