Raised by two moms and an Algerian dad, she naturally embraced an outlier perspective and distinguished herself from her peers. She instinctually gravitated towards music. She went from “humming as a baby, especially when mom played the piano or flute” to penning songs of her own at seven-years-old. Informed by vibes as diverse as “electronic and relaxing music from around the world,” she pieced pop and indie together around a melodic core as MOGLI. She initially gained traction with the likes of “Alaska,” reeling in 9.4 million Spotify streams and counting. 2017 saw her unveil Wanderer (Expedition Happiness Soundtrack) as the musical companion to her documentary Expedition Happiness. Directed by Mogli, the film followed her personal journey across America in a school bus-transformed-into-a-loft. Streaming on NETFLIX, it also achieved box office success. Meanwhile, “Wanderer” gathered 12.4 million Spotify streams. She maintained her momentum with the 2019 Patience EP and singles such as 2022’s “Aftermath.” Earmilk hailed the latter as “a whirlwind of emotion.” Most recently, Ravage saw her continue to evolve.

Hunkering down in Berlin, she embarks on her next creative chapter with the Anthem For Angels EP—her first as ZIRI. Embracing her freedom and ambition, it teems with a vibrant pop energy accented by raw honesty. “I’m inspired by people telling their truth,” she says. “I loved the high energy, and it was a fun and productive process.” Among many highlights, her voice soars atop heavenly strings and charging drums on “On The Verge.” Elsewhere, “The Genesis” conjures a dancefloor-ready groove topped off with a chantable chorus. During “Transformation,” her melodies leap over an incendiary bass drop.
