The quintessential “sleepover” has always been a naughty and rebellious activity. High schoolers during a sleepover tap into an excitable, often nefarious, energy whenever they stay up late with their best friends while the host’s parents are asleep. These slumber party antics, pranks, and deep conversations in dark rooms often become childhood memories that last a lifetime. Enter Sleepover, the newest musical project by two rising Los Angeles-based songwriters: Greg Hvnsen and Evalyn. The two each have their own flourishing solo songwriting careers—Greg has worked with Fleetwood Mac, Surfer Blood, and Giorgio Morodor, among others while Evalyn has written with Finneas O’Connell (of Billie Eilish), Louis The Child, Icona Pop, and more. So it’s no surprise that when the two artists linked-up and found out they both share a love for bass punk music, the results were authentic and palpable.
