When acclaimed singer/songwriter Nikki Leonti started her new project called JoyBird, she wanted to create a project that showcased her dynamic and infectious voice. With JoyBird, Leonti was compelled to make feel-good music with her own personal twist. With JoyBird, Leonti was able to start anew, let loose, and make care-free music free of any outside pressure. The resulting sounds are big and fun, and at times, even risky. Their newest project, {TITLE}, features experimental electronic elements that pair beautifully with Leonti’s soothing and soulful voice. Standout tracks such as “Take A Look At This” and “Stronger Together” are made for hands-in-the-air, feel-good sing-along moments.

JoyBird is also known for her popular 2019 Holiday track “Like It’s Christmas.” The juxtaposition of jingle bells with the funky instrumentation transports listeners into a rare and cozy fireside gathering that’s draped with disco balls shimmering against lush pine and mistletoe.

JoyBird’s music is all about letting go of the darkness and learning to look on the bright side of things. In a world that can often feel dark and scary, JoyBird’s music helps us see the light through the power of positive and inspiring music. “In the times that we live in, you have to draw hope and inspiration from wherever you can,” Leonti says. “Things can be dark and hopeless for a lot of people. Music can be an avenue for drive and escape. We’re bombarded with things that are so quick to bring you down. Ever since I began songwriting, I’ve wanted to uplift people through music.”

Like the name of the project itself, Leonti definitely brings joy to her listeners, and then some. JoyBird showcases an uber-positive side of the decorated Los Angeles-based artist. Like a bird soaring through the sky, Leonti is enjoying the boundlessness and creative freedom that JoyBird has unlocked for her.
