Shy child Evan McHugh didn't start playing/singing/writing until his late teens, prompted by a chance spin of "Cathedrals" by Jump Little Children one night on the radio. It’s at that moment that he threw himself in wholeheartedly, regaling his family with erroneous Dave Matthews riffs late into the night, stealing his older sister’s Weezer CD (the blue one – she never got it back), and haunting the record store to catch up on the melodic stylings of Elliot Smith, Nick Drake, Ella Fitzgerald, and Jeff Buckley. Fast-forward 10 years, and he’s more than made up for a leisurely start. That shy child is now living and working from Nashville, a prolific songwriter who now regularly turns out pop ballads, future hits and his own brand of sweet but insightful music with concrete perspective.
